Sited at the southern foot of Jiuling Mountains, the deposit of lithium chinasotne
from us formed in the later Yanshan period (about 130,000,000 years ago) with
the intrusive acid magma of epizonal vein (or super-epizonal vein) along the cranny.
It is composed of more than ten mineral veins of felsite in lithology and its
proved reserves totals up to 60 million tons. The main mineral compositions are
feldspar, quarts, sericite and kaopaque. The main chemical compositions are SiO2,
Al2O3, Li2O, K2O, Na2O, but with extremely low contents of Fe2O3 and Ti2O.
Such ore deposit cannot be found elsewhere in China yet.
Characteristics:
The lithium chinastone is adequate in whiteness and with extremely low contents of
iron and titanium, but a higher content of lithium. It features the advantages
of a reasonable chemical composition, evidencing strong fluxing power for its higher
contents of Li2O, K2O, and Na2O, and the better emulsification for a small
amount of P2O5 in content. Also, it provides with sound plasticity for a large
amount sericite in content. Then excellent and stable quality of lithium chinastone
makes it unique and one of the best ceramic and glass materials.
